The Sims 3 High-End Loft Stuff will release in February 2010.
Why did you decided to take especially this theme for the first Stuff Pack? What was the decisive factor for this?
Melanie Lam:
We always listen to our community and try to deliver content that they are asking for. In our research we found that players liked the concept of high-end electronics, gadgets and luxury goods for their Sims. Our players themselves are pretty tech-savvy so this was something that would have broad appeal.

In comparison to the official The Sims 3 Store - The included 60 objects are much cheaper than 60 objects from the Store. What is the reason for that difference?
Melanie Lam:
The store is a newer way for us to reach the community with individual objects, holiday themed objects, and sets. With the store, players get to craft their own collection of items for purchase. However, the design of a stuff pack is such that it boosts players’ ability to create a unique setting and tell a story; in this case, the setting is a modern loft space. The story could be that of a hip musician or a designer. We’ve put together 40 objects and about 20 Sim outfit items that go with the theme.
The pricing does not vary too greatly from the store as we offer discounts on the store when you purchase sets.

Why did you generally decided to release a Stuff Pack beside the Sims Store?
Melanie Lam:
As I mentioned earlier, we like to reach our players in different ways. Some players like having a new product with a complete collection of objects; others prefer to go shopping online to pick and choose individual pieces and have that experience.

As a special 10th Anniversary gift this pack includes three coveted items from The Sims and The Sims 2 games. The Fans are very excited about them. The Sims 2 Stuff Packs normally just include new objects but no new functions – Will for example the heart shaped vibrating bed include the new function to vibrate? Are any other new functions?
Melanie Lam:
Yes of course, the heart shaped bed is a Sims classic and there will be the option to “Turn Vibration On” while relaxing on the bed. Sims may get nauseous from using the bed too much and there’s another surprising consequence of using the bed which I will let players discover for themselves.

The Stuff Pack includes new clothes. Are there new patterns?
Melanie Lam:
There are 5 new patterns that complement the High-End Loft theme. We have made these patterns available to everyone via a game update.

Will The Sims 3 High-End Loft Stuff include new hairstyles, accessories or other Stuff besides the new objects and clothes?
Melanie Lam:
We have 5 exciting new hairstyles to go with the modern new clothes for your Sims. I especially like the male hairstyles in the pack, some of which are inspired by iconic celebrity hairstyles.

On which object are you very proud? Which do you like most?
Melanie Lam:
I really like our modern treadmill object that appears to be made of glass. However, that would be ridiculous! It has to be made of some kind of flexible, space-age material. My other favorites are creating an entertainment center out of two matching bookshelves and a TV console.

Will it be possible to buy single objects of The Sims 3 High-End Loft Stuff in the SimsStore?
Melanie Lam:
The objects are exclusive to The Sims 3 High-End Loft Stuff Pack.

Is there anything you want to say especially to the fans in Germany?
Melanie Lam:
We hope our fans enjoy creating some fantastic urban spaces with this pack. Their Sims can be as cool as they are with new gadgets and gizmos.
